Beneficial properties

The vitamin C of the plum helps to strengthen the immune system. It also helps to rebuild tissues and vessels.

The fiber contained in the plum is beneficial for gut bacteria. They help the health of the digestive system and produce some acids that act as fuel for muscle and liver cells. They also fight bacteria harmful to the body.

Prunes reduce the risk of developing abdominal cancer among people of all age groups. This can be attributed to the fact that plums are rich in soluble fiber so when eaten frequently they tend to reduce the risks of intestinal disorders, which are known to increase the risk of cancer in this area of the body. Plums also eliminate harmful pathogens in the digestive system, which also reduces the risk of abdominal cancer.
